Gift Circle stores the information needed to help you and the people in your Circle choose better gifts. We keep private buying information separate from the profile details a person or guardian chooses to share.

Information we use

• Account details such as your name, email address and sign-in information.
• Profile details such as date of birth, gender, shopping preference, sizes, interests, brands, wishlists and taste preferences.
• Family and Circle connections, including adult-managed child profiles.
• Private gifting information such as budgets, notes, recommendation feedback, gift history, reservations and purchases you record.
• Anonymous Gift Circle question-and-answer information and post-gift reactions where you use those features.
• Paid-access information such as entitlement status and payment identifiers needed to activate or manage a Christmas Pass.
• Technical information needed to operate, secure and improve the service.

What other Circle members can see

A Gift Passport can share useful profile information such as interests, selected sizes, brands and wishlist items. Private buyer notes, budgets, reservations, purchase history and what you are planning to buy are not included in a shared Gift Passport.

Children

Children are represented by an adult-managed profile. Gift Circle is designed for adults to create and manage those profiles rather than for young children to create their own accounts.

Retailers and links

When you choose a product, Gift Circle may send you to a retailer. Some links may later be affiliate links, which can earn Gift Circle a commission without changing the price you pay. Recommendation quality is not restricted to affiliate-approved products.

Analytics and service providers

Gift Circle uses service providers to host the app, authenticate users and search for or rank gift ideas. Product searches may use recipient taste information, the occasion and the buyer's budget to find current products. Only information required to provide the relevant feature is processed. The built-in visitor analytics is configured not to store a persistent analytics identifier on your device.

Gift Circle also records product-usage events such as recommendations shown, saves, retailer clicks and confirmed purchases. These events help us understand whether the service is useful and improve recommendations. They are kept within Gift Circle's application data and are not sold to advertisers.

Payments

Paid features are processed by Stripe through Floot Payments. Gift Circle stores the payment and entitlement identifiers and status needed to confirm and provide paid access. Full card details are handled by the payment provider and are not stored in Gift Circle's application database.

Deleting your account

You can start account deletion from the Me screen. Deleting an account removes the account and associated private data. A managed child profile may remain only where another authorised guardian already manages it.

Your choices

You can edit your profile, control what goes into a Gift Passport and remove wishlist or gift-history information from within the app. For a privacy or data-rights request, use the Gift Circle support form.
